Prabashi Darpan

Durga Pujo is a time for the entire Portland Prabashi community to come together in a time of celebration – religious, social and cultural. Over the last few years, the Prabashi Darpan magazine has become an important part of that cultural celebration. It is a means for members – both young and old – to showcase their amazing and sometimes hidden creative talents in the form of poetry, prose and art.

This is your channel to express yourself with the pen or the brush. Time to share your creativity with others. Whatever you feel like… kobita (poetry), golpo (story), drawings, drama, recipes, those beautiful pictures you took while hiking, etc. Anything you would like to share with the community.

We are now committed to publish Darpan quarterly throughout the year and feature hidden talents and community organizations to recognize their contributions.

Submissions are usually solicited a month leading up to Durga Pujo so please subscribe to our mailing list and follow us on Facebook to make sure you don’t miss the opportunity! We are always open to adding more events based on the feedback we receive from our supporters. Being a community based organization, we rely on the contribution of our members and friends in organizing our events. Prabashi believes in continuous improvement and we urge our members to come to us with ideas and suggestions to help us better reach out to the community.
